Stuart, FL – December 2020 – The schedule has been announced. The stadiums are being prepped and teams will be hitting the field in no time. In a college bowl game season that is changing by the hour, one thing never changes. Team Ip’s commitment to providing the highest level of service and branded promotional products to fans both online and on location. This commitment is what sets us apart as the #1 Souvenir Merchandiser for amateur sports in the United States.
Maintaining the #1 college bowl game market share comes down to strategy and planning which has been easier said than done this year. Only one day after announcing the lineup of UTSA and SMU the Frisco Bowl was canceled due to COVID-19 issues on the SMU team. Fortunately, UTSA was moved to the First Responders Bowl which is another ESPN bowl managed by Team IP. Other bowls including the Birmingham Bowl and the Independence Bowl were forced to cancel due to the number of teams opting out of bowl season altogether. Scheduling has not been the only challenge this season. With Disney owned ESPN Events limiting seating capacity to 20% and other bowls allowing anywhere from 15-25% capacity planning for attendance has had its own set of challenges. There has been a bit of silver lining though. With more and more fans not being able to attend the games in person Team IP has been able to step back and reimagine new ways of reaching them virtually through e-commerce and social media.
“We have been working closely with all of our bowl partners and their invited teams to utilize fan databases and social media. So even though there may be fewer fans in the seats, we have been able to pivot our online marketing to bring them the same opportunity to purchase official bowl merchandise while they cheer on their teams.”
Randy Sparks Team IP CEO and Founder
To tie up the season Team IP will travel to Mobile, Alabama to be a part of the Reese’s Senior Bowl which will be played in the brand-new state-of-the-art Hancock Whitney Stadium located on the campus of the University of South Alabama. The Reese’s Senior Bowl offers elite draft prospects from around the country the chance to showcase their talent and connect with coaches from all 32 NFL teams. The game will be broadcast on January 30th at 1:30 p.m. on the NFL Network.
