Founded in 1959 by Ambrose F. “Bud” Dudley in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the Liberty
Bowl is the seventh oldest college football bowl game in the nation. After five years in
Philadelphia, the game made history as the first major bowl game played indoors at the
Atlantic City Convention Hall in 1964. In 1965, the event found its permanent home in
Memphis, Tennessee, where it continues to be played annually at Simmons Bank
Liberty Stadium.

Over six decades, the bowl has consistently delivered thrilling college football
matchups, primarily pitting teams from the Southeastern Conference (SEC) against
those from the Big 12 Conference. Beyond the field, the Liberty Bowl has made a
significant community impact through its long-standing partnership with St. Jude
Children’s Research Hospital, bringing hope and support to families worldwide.
Team IP Sports will oversee the design, production, and distribution of all licensed
merchandise associated with the event - including apparel, collectibles, and exclusive
game-day memorabilia. Fans can look forward to exclusive collections that honor the
bowl’s storied legacy, available both online and inside Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium
during game day.
